Sasha-Ruano-In-Our-Hearts

Liliana and I said goodbye to our sweet Sasha on Friday, March 21, 2014.  She brought us so much happiness for more than thirteen years.  You will always be in our hearts, baby girl.

Thank you to everyone who has been in Sasha’s corner over the past two years.  We will be adding another post about Sasha in the coming days, so please come back to check it out.

We Love you, Sasha.

I am so very sorry to hear this! Sasha was such a trooper and fought the good fight. I know you all are missing her terribly. I’m sure Abby will be looking out for her and Sasha and Abby and Chance are all chasing squirrels together. All healed and perfect again and running around like wild and happy girls! While I sat here in tears, I know my grief and sadness cannot even come close to matching yours. Please take care of yourselves and the gang and know you all have a guardian angel to watch over you. Please keep in touch, I would love to hear about the adventures of the rest of the pack. Ziva and Bella will be getting a new Rottie sister named Kensi in another month. ( Remember NCIS fan). The Rottie sisters send bunches of Rottie kisses for all and I send you hugs and much love from Virginia.

Hi Barbara, thank you so much for writing – not only now, but always. You are the only one who consistently commented here on the blog and on the Lili’s Notes Facebook page. I know many others visited and read about Sasha (more than I could have imagined), but I always knew that if we added a new post or even just a photo, I could look forward to a response or comment from you.

We do miss Sasha dearly, and the void in our lives is huge – so much more so than we could have even imagined. We have not yet healed, and I feel like it may be quite a while before we do.

I love the idea of Sasha and Abby and Chance playing together. And being healed and whole!! What a nice vision 🙂

Thank you again for your comment and your kind words. We really do appreciate it.

      Carlos

P.S. I hope to see photos of Kensi when she makes her way to your home! That’s awesome!

I was so sorry to just hear of your incredible loss, Liliana & Carlos. Sasha led the pack down this important experimental journey, with Dolly and all the rest doing their best to follow in her paw prints. Although I never had the chance to meet Sasha, I know that she was brave and selfless, and touched the lives of many people and dogs. Her contributions to the world will live on, as will her soul in your hearts. Sea fuerte.

Hi Rachel, thank you for your kinds words. Sasha was a brave girl, and she leaves a huge in our lives – more than we could have even imagined. We have not yet healed, and I feel like it may be quite a while before we do. We take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain, but we miss her very much.

We hope Dolly is doing well. Sending you both best wishes.

      ~Liliana

Just came over to see your blog and saw this post first. I’m so sorry. Words can’t describe the pain, and the void, and the sadness. I can tell from your recent comments on our blog that Sasha was oh so special, and oh so loved.

Thank you for visiting. The pain is indescribably, but at least now memories of Sasha are starting to bring smiles. They still bring a lot of tears, but I can smile through them. She was a very special girl; she meant/means the world to me. And yes, she was oh so special, and oh so loved 🙂

I am so sorry for your loss. I first started reading your blog late last year when my pit Ellie was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Reading about Sasha and watching her videos always filled me with such hope (especially the ones of her swimming and running). What a beautiful girl with a beautiful soul!

Hi Lauren. Thank you for your comment. Liliana and I are very sorry to hear of Ellie’s diagnosis. How has she been doing? Dogs are so strong, and they only know to keep going, live life, and be happy. You need to be strong for her, and she will be strong for you. We are so happy that Sasha’s story and the videos of her help others who are going through the same scary circumstances that we experienced. We still feel a tremendous loss, but we are left with so many wonderful memories. Sasha was a one-of-a-kind dog, and I know Ellie is, too. Build as many good memories with her as you can, and please give her a big hug from us. We wish you both the best. Please do let us know how Ellie is doing!
